Sources of Inspiration

I’m open to new perspectives. They offer me inspiration and support my personal development. Clients appreciate my broad and up to date knowledge and the practical application of it. The following sources have been used as inspiration sources for both text and slogans on this website.

  • Coaching for Performance by John Whitmore. “The value of coaching is unlocking people’s potential to maximize their own performance”
  • The core quadrant of Daniel Offman. This model offers surprising insights. Many customers experience the eye-opening effect of the allergy: what we learn about ourselves from annoying behavior in others.
  • Jim Collins, Built to Last, successful habits of visionary companies “Preserve the Core, Stimulate Progress”.
  • Stephen Covey, The seven habits of highly effective people. Covey Presents authentic leadership based on mutual trust in a very accessible way.
  • Management Drives Field Book, Cor Keijser and Stephan van der Vat. This book shows in what way managers, coaches and team leaders can reach an optimal work situation and every team member can function in harmony with his or her drives.
  • The Skilled Facilitator by Roger Schwarz. Very complete work. “A facilitator is not making people do things but enabling them to release their potential”.
  • The Anxious Organisation of Jeffrey Miller. Highly recommended. Identify the symptoms of anxiety in your organisation, uncover its hidden costs and take advantage of practical, proven solutions for rising above it.
  • Learning to change, Leon de Caluwe and Hans Vermaak. The master class I attended offered useful tips and best practice on diagnosing and designing effective change programs.
  • Peter F. Drucker: The Effective Executive. His most influential and popular book. Drucker identifies five practices essential to business effectiveness that can, and must, be learned.
  • Manfred Kets de Vries, The leadership mystique. “Your business can have all the advantages in the world, but if leadership fails, all of these advantages melt away." The pitfalls of success and power. I do not use the stickering with the personality types. Although helpful in describing behavior I focus on the unique person in front of me.
  • Business Handbooks. Understanding history helps to understand the present and shape the future. I collect them!
  • Understanding Careers by Kerr Inkson. A unique framework of nine metaphors to examine careers. Including case studies.
  • Harriet Lerner: Fear is a bad advisor but an important navigator. And how do we survive the tragedy triangle?
  • Carl Jung. His theory and observations on unconscious processes in relationships - such as transfer and counter transfer - give many handles to increase awareness and be more effective.
  • The work of DW Winnicott. Offers in depth insights into the process of emotional development and how to increase emotional autonomy.
