About Marijke Hulsing

People and their behavior has always fascinated me. So the decision to study Psychology was easy. After my Ph.D. Organisational Psychology and Change Management I was assigned as Management Consultant at AEGON. The mission of the project was assisting the integration of the merging parties. The most important thing I learned was that for a merger to be successful it is both vital and complex to develop a shared culture.

Next I entered service with Transavia Airlines as HR-consultant. I operated as a co-architect to restructure the Sales & Marketing department. During the implementation I was appointed Product Manager. I gained knowledge (NIMA-B) and experience of Sales and Marketing. Learned the do’s and don’ts of working within a matrix structure, which subject I already had touched on during my project at AEGON.

My responsibility covered new product development and route acquisition of KLM. My approach can be characterised by designing the (new) products in close cooperation with the executing departments. I value commitment, the mobilisation of ideas and enthusiasm. This is a key success factor in effective product development. My colleagues remarked on my process facilitating skills and my excellent contacts on all levels. At the same time I’m a practical and result oriented person.

Since 2003 I have been active as an independent coach and facilitator. I support people and organisations in development processes. I cover talent and personal development, leadership issues, effective teamwork and change management. You can find more information about my service and customer feed back on this site. My clients often mention the ability “to see through” an issue or a person as one of my key talents. They appreciate that my work is based on mutual trust, professionalism, making use of empathy and my dedication to achieving lasting results.

I really do enjoy my job. It’s wonderful to see people learning and developing themselves. The good thing about my profession is that it stimulates my own development. My clients are mirrors to me too. My experience in management positions with several companies is often mentioned as being valuable. I’m familiar with the day to day practice and the language spoken within companies. During my years in the airline business I had close contacts in Europe (Spain, Portugal, Germany, UK) and further afield (Tunesia, South Africa, Nepal). I know by heart what it means to cooperate with people of different cultures.
